Joel and I have lived in love for three and half years now.  We met in Mexico serving the poor, got engaged two weeks later, and married within three months of meeting on the island of Malta. You can find all the juicy details of God writing our romance in our book A Love Worth Waiting For.

Joel and I have had the privilege of serving and working with the poor or oppressed in many different countries.  India, Peru, Haiti, Latvia, Russia, and Ukraine are just to name a few.  Our longest most recent stint together was serving the refugees from Mosul and Baghdad that had found their way into Jordan.

After facilitating meeting medical, food, spiritual, housing, and educational needs for a year and half, Joel and I turned to face different mountains back in the United States: the Appalachian Trail.

After hiking the Appalachian Trail up the east coast from North Carolina all the way to Maine, we found ourselves in Puerto Rico right after Hurricane Maria.  Handing out water filters and hope for one month, through city and church leadership, we saw a changed, resilient island people.

Now residing in Minnesota for the time being, I am pursuing my art interested while my husband stand between cultures here in the states as a Spanish translator in medical situations.  We look forward with anticipation of all God’s purposes in our lives.
