Joel and I have lived in love for three and half years now. We met in Mexico serving the poor, got engaged two weeks later, and married within three months of meeting on the island of Malta. If this story seems fast, you can read about the long internal work God had to do in my heart by reading our book A Love Worth Waiting For.
Joel and I have had the privilege of serving and working with the poor in many different countries. India, Peru, Haiti, Latvia, Russia, and Ukraine are just to name a few. Our longest most recent stint together was serving the refugees from Mosul and Baghdad that had found themselves in Jordan.
With no way to make a living in Jordan, these people required services of every kind and Joel and I were fortunate enough to work for an organization that saw their value and worth and gave them what they could. We helped facilitate meeting medical, food, spiritual, housing, and educational needs.
With a much needed break due, Joel got to live out his dream of hiking the Appalachian Trail up the east coast from North Carolina all the way to Maine. We are currently waiting on the Lord for our next assignment for whatever he would have us do, wherever he would have us serve.
If you have an interesting in keeping up with our journey or my husband’s crazy haircuts, feel free to subsribe to this blog. If you have an interest in supporting our service here or abroad simply visit our gifts webpage by clicking here to make a one time or reoccurring donation.
Peacefully resting in his faithfulness,
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him and he will direct your paths. Prov. 3:5
