Mother

Mother

The woman in this painting hired me to do a painting of her daughter.  This woman shared with me that while she was pregnant she found out she had brain cancer.  This beautiful little face, she said was a gift that kept her wanting to be alive during the difficulty and pain of radiation and chemotherapy treatments.  She left it open for me to paint what I wanted and I reviewed some photos and found this one in their hallway.  I brought several photos home with me and this is the one I selected.  This painting is 3′ x 4′ feet wide.  She was surprised by both the content and size.  She had seen a picture of Eden online but had no idea how large it was.  With tears she shared what she was thinking with that deep gaze on her face.  She was embracing her daughter and she remembers thinking how grateful she was to have Lily in her life, so thankful.  God saw her heart.  It was finished and delivered Mother’s day weekend.
